VBII celebrated LGBT Pride Sunday evening in a concert setting featuring the Village People, as did Avion's two hours of music by gay artists. Seashelly was voted Best Village Person in a field that ran the VP gamut and some other theme costumes.

Last evening marked the debut of Avion's Venus Beach Community Hospital and a terrific set of "medically-themed" music. With a bevy of nurses on hand, no one required the hearse hidden next to the building. Patients Bea and Cheryl shared top honors in Best Medical Professional or Patient.
Next Sunday we'll observe LGBT Pride with music by LGBT artists featuring The Village People, and a contest for Best Village Person (cop, native American, solder/sailor, leather, construction worker or cowboy, or anything else that fits the general theme). Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month is celebrated each June to honor the 1969 Stonewall riots in Manhattan. The Stonewall riots were a tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States.
