Bea Swings the Beach

This week we dance to the beat of the big bands on Sunday at 4 pm SLT when DJ Bea presents classic swing artists in the Honeysuckle Rose venue. Attire may be swing era, 1930s/40s, deco or just classy, but don't forget your dancing shoes!

Last Sunday Last Sunday evening we celebrated St Andrew's Day with a visit to Mac's highland pub, where DJ Avion played a selection of music by modern Scottish artists. A variety of plaids and Scottish national colors added to the atmosphere.

For this week's Celtic Sunrise at 5 am SLT, DJ Qntal will present a set featuring British groups in the English pub. Last week Qntal played a beautiful selection of romantic and Celtic tunes for the regular end-of-month Love Songs and Lingerie on the Big Bed at Venus Bean.

DJ Bea plays an eclectic mix of rock, blues and jazz on Monday mornings at 9 am SLT. This Monday, Bea says "There is an Alex Taylor album in there, but it is really a hodge podge otherwise." 

DJ Cerydwen continues her journey into the best decades of contemporary music with 80s Night at 5 pm SLT Monday. Always lots of favorites, as well as music you've rarely or never heard before.

DJ Avion spins tunes old and new, by artists legendary and obscure, when we get beachy for Tiki Toosday at 5 pm SLT. We currently alternate between Surf's Up and the VB Pool, which will be the venue for next Tuesday's event.

DJ Cerydwen presents Symphonic and Goth metal on Wednesdays at 5 pm SLT, in her latex and leather dungeon. Great music in a perfect setting for an oft-overlooked but compelling genre of music.

On Fridays at 5 pm SLT, DJ Cerydwen plays a musical theme that usually takes place in one of the special venues. This week, Cerydwen will entertain us with Part 2 of Japanese anime, a genre of music new to me which I found energetic and most enjoyable. Last week Cerydwen played songs from the 1990s,  a period which featured a new mix of musical sounds.
