St Andrews Day

St Andrew's Day is on November 30th, so this Sunday at 4 pm SLT we gather at Mac's pub for a round of music, dance and good company, where DJ Avion will be playing music by modern Scottish artists. Suggested dress is Scottish attire, or as always come as you are or as you like.

Last Sunday evening DJ Bea played a selection of blues from a variety of artists and styles. Guests wore bluesy/denimy outfits - for as long as they stayed on! - while the Venus Beat Blues Club provided fitting decor for the music.

For this week's Celtic Sunrise at 5 am SLT, DJ Qntal will present the regular end-of-month Love Songs and Lingerie on the Big Bed at Venus Bean. Last week, Qntal played a fine selection of music by Canadian artists, in the Kamp Kanada venue.

DJ Bea plays an eclectic mix of rock, blues and jazz on Monday mornings at 9 am SLT. This Monday, Bea says "I got in more of a bluesy mood, so lots of classic blues/rock." 

DJ Cerydwen continues her journey into the best decades of contemporary music with 80s Night at 5 pm SLT Monday. Always lots of favorites, as well as music you've rarely or never heard before.

New Chick on the Block

Cerydwen's new chicken, the only pecker allowed at Venus Beach!

DJ Avion spins tunes old and new, by artists legendary and obscure, when we get beachy for Tiki Toosday at 5 pm SLT. We currently alternate between the VB Pool and Surf's Up, which will be the venue for next Tuesday's event.

DJ Cerydwen presents Symphonic and Goth metal on Wednesdays at 5 pm SLT, in her latex and leather dungeon. Great music in a perfect setting for an oft-overlooked but compelling genre of music.

On Fridays at 5 pm SLT, DJ Cerydwen plays a musical theme that often takes place in one of the special venues. This week, Cerydwen will entertain us with songs from the 1990s, a period of musical change with cross-pollination of existing genres resulting in new sounds. Last week Cerydwen played a genre of music new to many of us, with tunes from Japanese anime. Great melodies, and due to be repeated in a few weeks.
