For this week's Sunday evening event at 4 pm SLT we return to the period Malt Shop where DJ Bea will play a selection of rock'n'roll oldies. Haul those bobby-sox and poodle skirts out of inventory, or find something equally fifties.
Bea's This Week in VB II
Last Sunday evening we visited the Moulin Rouge cabaret to celebrate Bastille Day (July 14th), the French national day. Guests danced in a variety of wonderful costumes to a mix of burlesque and revolutionary music provided by DJ Avion.
This week's Celtic Sunrise at 5 am SLT will once again be in hiatus while DJ Qntal takes advantage of the short Canadian summer. Normal transmission should resume in two weeks time.
DJ Bea plays an eclectic mix of rock, blues and jazz on Monday mornings at 9 am SLT. This Monday Bea says "I decided that I wanted to play some Fabulous Thunderbirds - then I decided sone CCR would go well with that - and then I just filled it out from there."
DJ Cerydwen continues her journey into the best decades of contemporary music with 80s Night at 5 pm SLT Monday. Lots of favorites, but always something new to discover from the decade that keeps on giving.
DJ Avion spins tunes old and new, by artists legendary and obscure, when we get beachy for Tiki Toosday at 5 pm SLT. We currently alternate between Surf's Up and the VB Pool, which will be the venue for next Tuesday's event.
DJ Cerydwen presents Metal Night on Wednesdays at 5 pm SLT, in her latex and leather dungeon. Great music in a perfect setting for an absorbing and compelling genre of music.
This week on Thursday at 5 pm slt, DJ Sara continues to play a great mix of rock tunes from the 1970s onwards, covering arguably the best decades of modern music.
On Fridays at 5 pm SLT, DJ Cerydwen presents a different weekly musical theme. This week we acknowledge World Day for International Justice, an international day observed throughout the world on July 17th as part of an effort to recognize the emerging system of international criminal justice - sadly a topical subject in these times. Last week celebrated that most delicious of confectionery with a tribute to World Chocolate Day, in the VB Sweet Shop where all shades of chocolate from white to dark were repesented.
