On Sunday, DJ Avion Rocked the Taj (Mahal) with yet another colorful set. Once again Sunday night voting was widely distributed among most of the attendees. Best in Indian honors were shared by three people for the third time in a month: Bea, Sunbeam, and Surfer.
Friday morning's 5 am SLT event is timed to accommodate nearly all of our international members, and on occasion it might catch one of our Left Coast Americans still in her jammies.
Last Thursday, DJ Surfer provided her usual excellent rock tunes at Game Night, as we all tried our hand at just a few of the many activities in Avion's still-emerging Venus Gardens Amusement Park. The photographer is still working on the art of capturing fast-moving vehicles.

Join us tonight at the oceanfront Surf's Up tiki bar and try the watersports along with music, dancing and chat. And Thursday forSurfer's surprise-themed event. And Friday morning for coffee at Caf-a-blanca. Sunday's contest will be for best (Asian) Indian.
Last Sunday, bubble gum reigned as Bea spun bubble gum rock from a half-century ago and bubble-gum-chewing table dancer Alwayz won Best in 50s at the Rock Hard Café. Shy won best in baggies Thursday, but still doesn't know why anyone would actually wear them.
Friday morning was the first event at Caf-a-blanca in Venus Gardens, where there's a range of beverages and snacks while you visit the still-emerging amusement park and related race track and aviation opportunities. Look for details soon of a Grand Opening for Avion's latest adventure in building. (Yes, that's an orange cloud at Caf-a-blanca--Bev visited via iPad).

Sunday's formal event at Ella's included a Best Evening Gown competition, won by Sunbeam. On Thursday, Alwayz and Shy tied for best Amerind.
This week, there's Surfer's weekly competition with a last minute theme on Thursday, and Sunday's Malt Shop event with a Best in '50s competition. On Friday morning at 5 am SLT, Avion and Laura will unveil a colorful new location with tons of activities to go along with the usual music, dancing, chatter and giggles. Don't miss it!
Nice turnout for Avion's Best in Lingerie event Sunday evening. Lori Benson received multiple votes to win, and nearly everyone got a vote. The previous Sunday (no pics), Christmas in July resulted in a three-way tie for Bare As You Dare: Alwayz, Bea and Sunbeam.
On Thursday, Alwayz and Shy tied for Best Udders...*looks down*...er, wait! That was Best Cowgirl.
Morning events this week Monday and Friday, Topless Tiki Toosday, Surfer's Surprise on Thursday, and Sunday's event is Best Evening Gown with a formal dance at Ella's.
But on Thursday, Alwayz was voted best in Demo. It was her second straight Thursday win--she was best in lingerie a week ago. On the intervening Sunday, Bea and Shy were the grungiest on the disgustingly realistic grunge set.

Avion baked a giant dance floor on which she and co-founder Laura hosted a Saturday night special to celebrate Venus Beach II's second birthday. In the best birthday suit competition, big white bows and little pink cupcakes carried the day as Alwayz and Shy tied for top honors.
In the other birthday of the week (USA's 237th), Rosita won best in red, white and blue at DJ Surfer's very colorful event.

OMG, that sorta rhymes--I couldn't have done that if I'd tried! Um, yeah, new schedule with all your favorite events and DJs still on the card and a bit of consolidation, too. Drop by the Landing Area and click the schedule board for a notecard giving the new lineup.
Last Thursday a stylish red jacket helped Avion win Best in Leather. On Saturday Bea introduced underwater hula hooping. On Sunday, Alwayz was exquisitely retro in winning Best in Swing Attire. And, yes, that's iBev visiting the swing event via iPhone, or iPad, or iSomething.
