Last Sunday evening we plunged into the Venus Beach mermaid pool where a bevy of beautiful mermaids performed synchronised swimming to the soft music of DJ Avion.
For this week's Celtic Sunrise at 5 am SLT Sunday, DJ Shelly will play a "Celtic Belly Dances" set in the Arabian Night venue. Last week, DJ Qntal presented "Early Morning 80s" - a selection of tunes from one of the best decades of music - in the Venus Bean lounge.
DJ Bea plays an eclectic set of rock, blues and jazz on Monday mornings at 9 am SLT. This Monday Bea will play "another unthemed set, with a little bit of this, some of that, and then some of the other thing". Sounds suspiciously hodgy-podgy!
DJ JoAnn continues her journey into the best decades of contemporary music with 80s Night at 5 pm SLT Monday. Always lots of favorites, as well as music rarely or never heard before.
DJ Avion spins tunes old and new, by artists legendary and obscure, when we gather for Tiki Toosday at 5 pm SLT. We currently alternate between Surf's Up and the VB Pool which will be the location of next Tuesday's event.
DJ JoAnn presents Symphonic and Goth metal on Wednesdays at 5 pm SLT in her latex and leather dungeon. Great music in a perfect setting for an oft-overlooked but compelling genre of music.
On Thursday morning, Bea presented another of her Music Pop Ups, only a short one this time featuring Arlo Guthrie's "Alice's Restaurant Massacree" (yes, the spelling is correct!) - "I play this every Thanksgiving, and decided I might as well play do here".
On Fridays at 5 pm SLT, DJ JoAnn plays a musical theme that often takes place in one of the special venues. This week JoAnn will play songs about Spies and Assassins, in the elegant but deadly environs of the Monte Carlo Casino - think Bond Girl or fiendish filleter. Last week the theme was Black Friday, the post-Thanksgiving shopping frenzy, with most guests choosing black attire to match the music and theme.
