Last Sunday we boarded the bad ship HMS Booty to celebrate International Talk Like a Pirate Day. A wonderful array of piratical attire was accompanied by nautical music from DJ Avion.
For this week's Celtic Sunrise at 5am SLT, DJ Shelly will present the regular end-of-month Love Songs and Lingerie on the Big Bed at Venus Bean. Last week, we travelled to Venushenge where DJ Qntal played a selection of seasonal music to celebrate Mabon (the pagan festival of the autumn equinox).
DJ Bea plays an eclectic mix of rock, blues and jazz on Monday mornings at 9 am SLT. This Monday, Bea says "I decided that I had been without a digital copy of Deja Vu for too long, so I got one - and that led to a couple of other albums making up a playlist."
DJ Cerydwen continues her journey into the best decades of contemporary music with 80s Night at 5 pm SLT Monday. Always lots of favorites, as well as music you've rarely or never heard before.
DJ Avion spins tunes old and new, by artists legendary and obscure, when we get beachy for Tiki Toosday at 5 pm SLT. We currently alternate between Surf's Up and the VB Pool, which will be the venue for next Tuesday's event.
DJ Cerydwen presents Symphonic and Goth metal on Wednesdays at 5 pm SLT, in her latex and leather dungeon. Great music in a perfect setting for an oft-overlooked but compelling genre of music.
On Fridays at 5 pm SLT, DJ Cerydwen plays a musical theme that often takes place in one of the special venues. This week, Cerydwen will present a Doctors and Nurses theme in the VB hospital to salute medical personnel who have lost their own lives while caring for Covid-19 victims. Last week we danced to angelic and demonic music in the bipartisan Heaven and Hell set ... no big surprise that the majority chose the "warmer" side of the venue!
