For this week's event at 4 pm SLT Sunday we don our favorite jeans in acknowledgement of the long history and popularity of denim clothing, particularly as casual wear since the 1950s. Suggested theme attire is self-evident, plus whatever else makes you feel comfortable .... or as always, come as you like or as you are.
Bea's This Week in VB II
Last Sunday evening was the occasion of our annual observance of Star Wars Day, celebrating all forms of science fiction in the appropriate environs of the Death Star. Guests stepped up to the challenge with a terrific array of spacey costumes, while the Storm Troupers played through the night.
For this week's Celtic Sunrise at 5 am SLT, DJ Qntal will play a selection of song covers, which often improve upon and are more popular than the originals. Last week, Qntal presented a lively set of rockin' Celtic music in the VB Castle.
DJ Bea plays an eclectic mix of rock, blues and jazz on Monday mornings at 9 am SLT. This Monday, Bea will play ".... another hodge-podge mish-mash, where I tried to get in some songs I don't play much."
DJ Cerydwen continues her journey into the best decades of contemporary music with 80s Night at 5 pm SLT Monday. Always lots of favorites, as well as music you've rarely or never heard before.
DJ Avion spins tunes old and new, by artists legendary and obscure, when we get beachy for Tiki Toosday at 5 pm SLT. We currently alternate between Surf's Up and the VB Pool, which will be the venue for next Tuesday's event.
DJ Cerydwen presents Symphonic and Goth metal on Wednesdays at 5 pm SLT, in her latex and leather dungeon. Great music in a perfect setting for an oft-overlooked but compelling genre of music.
On Fridays at 5 pm SLT, DJ Cerydwen plays a musical theme that often takes place in one of the special venues. This week, Cerydwen will play music from one of the other great decades of music, the 1970s. Suggested theme attire .... bell-bottom pants, maxi skirts, peasant blouses, ponchos and pantsuits were all popular, and the period included the tail end of the tie-dyed hippie era. Last week we mooved to the VB Barn where Cerydwen presented Dairy Tales, a moosical jaunt through animal husbandry with a conspicuous lactic bent.
