Bastille Day @ Moulin Rouge

This week on Sunday evening at 4 pm SLT we head off to la belle France to celebrate Bastille Day in - where else? - the Moulin Rouge cabaret. Dress suggestions might be revolutionaries, showgirls, ladies of the night, or anything with a French flavor.

Last Sunday evening was a triple celebration for Canada Day, Independence Day and Venus Beach II's twelfth birthday. Many guests wore national or VB costumes, and several birthday suits were in evidence!

DJ Qntal will be taking a break from her 5 am SLT Sunday Celtic Sunrise event for the duration of the northern summer - with the exception of the end-of-month Love Songs and Lingerie - but may return to a full schedule in the fall. Watch for notices! Last week Qntal presented a lovely selection of romantic tunes on the Big Bed at Venus Bean. 

DJ Bea plays an eclectic mix of rock, blues and jazz on Monday mornings at 9 am SLT. Bea will be unavailable this Monday but will resume normal transmission next week.

DJ Cerydwen continues her journey into the best decades of contemporary music with 80s Night at 5 pm SLT Monday. Lots of favorites, but always something new to discover from the decade that keeps on giving and surprising.

DJ Avion spins tunes old and new, by artists legendary and obscure, when we get beachy for Tiki Toosday at 5 pm SLT. We currently alternate between the VB Pool and Surf's Up, which will be the venue for next Tuesday's event.

DJ Cerydwen presents Hard Rock and Metal Night on Wednesdays at 5 pm SLT, in her latex and leather dungeon. Great music in a perfect setting for an absorbing and compelling genre of music.

On Fridays at 5 pm SLT, DJ Cerydwen presents a different weekly musical theme. This week we celebrate that most delectable of confectionery with a tribute to World Chocolate Day (July 7th each year), to be held in the VB Sweet Shop. Last, Cerydwen presented a wonderful set of music by British dance bands from 1927 to 1939, in the Roxy Ballroom venue.
