Avion and Shy's Excellent African Adventure
Our first trip to Africa took us to the beautiful new sim "Jambo! A Voyage to Africa." German sensualist Camila has recreated the Cradle of Civilization circa 1920s with a visual feast of flora and fauna unique to the African plains. She uses color and atmosphere to perfectly capture what author Wilbur Smith calls the "buttery" African light. Hints: Keep poking around, we missed some places on our first visit. And bring a camera! Here's the landmark.

Unsuccessful visitors in the past
Cute little giraffes
Holy cow, huge giraffes!
Lion perusing menu (grazing gazelles)
Saying 'howdy' from a howdah
Monkey business
Let there be drums
Rule 42: Always bring a chandelier on safari
Sleepy chimp ... or VBer after a hard night?

Last week on Sunday evening DJ Bea rocked us out in the VB Milk Bar to the top hits on the R&B charts of 1962 and 1963.
DJ Bea plays an eclectic set of rock, blues and jazz on Monday mornings at 9 am SLT. This Monday Bea springs a a bunch of new-to-her music on you - eclectic, but several tunes by some artists.
DJ JoAnn continues her journey into the best decades of contemporary music with 80s Night at 5 pm SLT Monday. Always lots of favorites, as well as music you've rarely or never heard before.
DJ Avion spins tunes old and new, by artists legendary and obscure, when we gather for Tiki Toosday at 5 pm SLT. We currently alternate between the VB Pool and Surf's Up, which will be the location of next Tuesday's event.
On Fridays at 5 pm SLT DJ JoAnn plays a musical theme that often takes place in one of the special venues. This week's theme is Planets, when JoAnn will play songs mentioning the denizens of this and perhaps other solar systems. Last week we were summoned to court to mark the World Day for International Justice, celebrated on July 17th as part of an effort to recognize the emerging system of international crime justice.
Just hangin' ....
