U.S. Presidential Inauguration

 This Sunday we recognize (and celebrate or not, that's democracy) the inauguration of the 46th American President. Reach into your imagination and inventory to portray any of the American Presidents or First Ladies, White House staffers, Secret Service agents, protesters, Inaugural Ball attendees or anyone else who comes to mind. And the venue? The White House Oval Office of course!

Last Sunday we entered the way-back machine and clebrated the new year in a way that the ancient Romans surely didn't. Music about the passage of time was accompanied by an array of colorful costumes, parts of which crumbled to dust as the evening progressed.

For this week's Celtic Sunrise at 5 am SLT, DJ Qntal will offer Early Morning Swing with mostly swing revival groups. Last week, DJ Shelly presented a second round of Love Songs and Lingerie on the Big Bed at Venus Bean with a beautiful selection of romantic and Celtic tunes.

DJ Bea plays an eclectic mix of rock, blues and jazz on Monday mornings at 9 am SLT. This Monday, Bea will play "Another genuine, 100% random multi-genre whatever it is."

DJ Cerydwen continues her journey into the best decades of contemporary music with 80s Night at 5 pm SLT Monday. Always lots of favorites, as well as music you've rarely or never heard before.

DJ Avion spins tunes old and new, by artists legendary and obscure, when we get beachy for Tiki Toosday at 5 pm SLT. We currently alternate between the VB Pool and Surf's Up, which will be the venue for next Tuesday's event.

DJ Cerydwen presents Symphonic and Goth metal on Wednesdays at 5 pm SLT, in her latex and leather dungeon. Great music in a perfect setting for an oft-overlooked but compelling genre of music.

On Fridays at 5 pm SLT, DJ Cerydwen plays a musical theme that often takes place in one of the special venues. This week, with the end of another year and in what has now become a VB tradition, Cerydwen will present part 2 of songs relating to the passage of Time. Last week, we danced inside the giant clock for the first part of the Time theme.
