The annual New Orleans Mardi Gras festival season is upon us, so time to roll out Bourbon Street for our yearly Mardi Gras debauchery. Lots of colorful and elaborate costumery out there to set the visual mood, while DJ Bea will provide the New Orleans musical tone.
Bea's This Week in VB II
Last Sunday we celebrated Valentine's Day in the VB Love Pavilion, with a selection of romantic tunes provided by DJ Avion.
For this week's Celtic Sunrise at 5 am SLT, DJ Qntal will present "Guitar Heroes", with songs played by outstanding guitarists. Last week Qntal snared a great selection of songs featuring noted drummers.
DJ Bea plays an eclectic mix of rock, blues and jazz on Monday mornings at 9 am SLT. This Monday, Bea will play "In honor of Valentine's Day, songs with 'love' in the title. They may not be love songs ..."
DJ Cerydwen continues her journey into the best decades of contemporary music with 80s Night at 5 pm SLT Monday. Lots of favorites, but always something new to discover from the decade that keeps on giving.
DJ Avion spins tunes old and new, by artists legendary and obscure, when we get beachy for Tiki Toosday at 5 pm SLT. We currently alternate between the VB Pool and Surf's Up, which will be the venue for next Tuesday's event.
DJ Cerydwen presents Symphonic and Goth metal on Wednesdays at 5 pm SLT, in her latex and leather dungeon. Great music in a perfect setting for an absorbing and compelling genre of music.
On Fridays at 5 pm SLT, DJ Cerydwen presents a different musical theme each week. This week, Cerydwen will present part 2 of "Cover Songs" with a selection of popular songs that were actually covers, while we try to guess the original recording artists. Last week Cerydwen played "Four Chord Songs", tunes containing the four chords which comprise a large proportion of hit songs.
