This past week we paid tribute to our kittycat friends, in the dual-themed Dolly's (Best Little Cathouse in SL). Their human servants displayed an array of costumes in theme with either meaning of cathouse, dancing to music with a feline bent provided by DJ Avion.
For this week's Celtic Sunrise at 5 am SLT, DJ Qntal will present "Sound of Drums", i.e. songs with a lot of drummage. Last week, Qntal played a beautiful selection of Middle Eastern and medieval music at the Arabian Nights venue.
DJ Bea plays an eclectic mix of rock, blues and jazz on Monday mornings at 9 am SLT. This Monday, Bea says "I started with some Santana ... and then it somehow evolved into a bunch of train songs ..."
DJ Cerydwen continues her journey into the best decades of contemporary music with 80s Night at 5 pm SLT Monday. Lots of favorites, but always something new to discover from the decade that keeps on giving.
DJ Avion spins tunes old and new, by artists legendary and obscure, when we get beachy for Tiki Toosday at 5 pm SLT. We currently alternate between Surf's Up and the VB Pool, which will be the venue for next Tuesday's event.
DJ Cerydwen presents Symphonic and Goth metal on Wednesdays at 5 pm SLT, in her latex and leather dungeon. Great music in a perfect setting for an absorbing and compelling genre of music.
On Fridays at 5 pm SLT, DJ Cerydwen presents a different musical theme each week. This week, Cerydwen will present "Four Chord Songs", tunes containing the four chords which comprise a large proportion of hit songs dating back centuries. Last week Cerydwen played a selection of popular songs that were actually covers, while we tried (and largely failed!) to guess the original recording artist.
