Last Sunday evening we visited Bourbon Street in New Orleans to celebrate Mardi Gras, where beads and feathers dominated the spectacular costumery. DJ Bea provided the lively Louisiana-inspired music.
For this week's Celtic Sunrise at 5 am SLT, DJ Qntal will present the regular end-of-month Love Songs and Lingerie on the Big Bed at Venus Bean. Last week's theme was "Guitar Heroes", where Qntal played a great selection of songs featuring noted guitarists.
DJ Bea plays an eclectic mix of rock, blues and jazz on Monday mornings at 9 am SLT. This Monday, Bea says "I purchased a couple of new albums ... so we will hear a lot of that ... and some other stuff."
DJ Cerydwen continues her journey into the best decades of contemporary music with 80s Night at 5 pm SLT Monday. Lots of favorites, but always something new to discover from the decade that keeps on giving.
DJ Avion spins tunes old and new, by artists legendary and obscure, when we get beachy for Tiki Toosday at 5 pm SLT. We currently alternate between Surf's Up and the VB Pool, which will be the venue for next Tuesday's event.
DJ Cerydwen presents Symphonic and Goth metal on Wednesdays at 5 pm SLT, in her latex and leather dungeon. Great music in a perfect setting for an absorbing and compelling genre of music.
On Fridays at 5 pm SLT, DJ Cerydwen presents a different musical theme each week. This week, we don big hair and platform shoes when Cerydwen takes us to Xanadu for a round of great music from the flashy disco era. Last week Cerydwen played Part 2 of Cover Songs, popular songs that were actually covers, while we tried (and once again largely failed) to guess the original recording artist.
