This week we dance to the beat of the big bands on Sunday at 4 pm SLT when DJ Bea presents classic swing artists in the Honeysuckle Rose venue. Attire may be swing era, 1930s/40s, deco or just classy, but don't forget your dancing shoes!
Bea's This Week in VB II
Our celebration of Pride Month last Sunday evening saw us gather on the Village People set, many of us sporting colorful pride costumes, where we chatted and danced to DJ Avion's selection of music by LGBTQ artists.
For this week's Celtic Sunrise at 5 am SLT, DJ Qntal will present a cat-themed event in - where else? - a giant litter-box! Last week's event was a deferred regular end-of-month Love Songs and Lingerie on the Big Bed at Venus Bean.
DJ Bea plays an eclectic mix of rock, blues and jazz on Monday mornings at 9 am SLT. This Monday, Bea says "This set started as a typical Bea mish-mash, then I threw in a bunch of summer songs in the middle of it. It's a bit jazzier than my average Monday set, as well."
DJ Cerydwen continues her journey into the best decades of contemporary music with 80s Night at 5 pm SLT Monday. Lots of favorites, but always something new to discover from the decade that keeps on giving.
DJ Avion spins tunes old and new, by artists legendary and obscure, when we get beachy for Tiki Toosday at 5 pm SLT. We currently alternate between the VB Pool and Surf's Up, which will be the venue for next Tuesday's event.
DJ Cerydwen presents Symphonic and Goth metal on Wednesdays at 5 pm SLT, in her latex and leather dungeon. Great music in a perfect setting for an absorbing and compelling genre of music.
This week on Thursday at 5 pm slt, DJ Sara continues to play a great mix of rock tunes from the 1970s onwards, covering arguably the best decades of modern music.
On Fridays at 5 pm SLT, DJ Cerydwen presents a different weekly musical theme. This week's theme is Fire & Ice - think ice queens or demons, wintry garb or something more fiery. Last week Cerydwen played music with an ecological theme in celebration of World Environment Day.
