Mardi Gras Revelry

The annual New Orleans Mardi Gras festival season is upon us, so time to roll out Bourbon Street for our yearly Mardi Gras debauchery. Lots of colorful and elaborate costumery out there to set the visual mood, while DJ Bea will provide the New Orleans musical tone.

Last Sunday we celebrated Valentine's Day in the VB Love Pavilion, with a selection of romantic tunes provided by DJ Avion.

For this week's Celtic Sunrise at 5 am SLT Sunday, DJ Qntal will play a Celtic and Medieval themed set. Last week Qntal presented lovely romantic music in keeping with the imminent Valentine's Day.

DJ Bea plays an eclectic mix of rock, blues and jazz on Monday mornings at 9 am SLT. This Monday Bea says "I was gonna do some anti-Valentine's songs, with random fill-ins. Then Burt Bacharach died, so there is a tribute to him with the anti-Valentine's songs."

DJ Cerydwen continues her journey into the best decades of contemporary music with 80s Night at 5 pm SLT Monday. Lots of favorites, but always something new to discover from the decade that keeps on giving and surprising.

DJ Avion spins tunes old and new, by artists legendary and obscure, when we get beachy for Tiki Toosday at 5 pm SLT. We currently alternate between the VB Pool and Surf's Up, which will be the venue for next Tuesday's event.

DJ Cerydwen presents Hard Rock and Metal Night on Wednesdays at 5 pm SLT, in her latex and leather dungeon. Great music in a perfect setting for an absorbing and compelling genre of music.

This week on Thursday at 5 pm slt, DJ Amber will play a mix of soft rock tunes from the 1970s onwards, covering arguably the best decades of modern music.

On Fridays at 5 pm SLT, DJ Cerydwen presents a different weekly musical theme. This week the theme will be Black & White, where guests are invited to blend in or contrast with the surroundings ... come as a grand piano and play with yourself? Last week we checked into the Venus Beach Community Hospital to honor health workers .... we all scrubbed up pretty well!
