January 26th is the official national day of Australia, marking the anniversary of European settlement in 1788. This week on Sunday at 4 pm SLT, DJ Avion will be spinning a selection of tunes by Australian artists, in an outback bushland setting in the shadow of Uluru .... and complete with a sausage sizzle.
Last week on Sunday evening at 4 pm, DJ Bea spun a great mix of top rock songs by girl groups from 1955 to 1964, in the Malt Shop venue. Many guests dressed to the theme with a cool array of period attire.
For this week's Celtic Sunrise at 5 am SLT, DJ Qntal will play music to the Planes, Trains and Automobiles theme - not enough room for an aerodrome in the VB Railway Station, so you may have to cam up to spot the aeronautical element. Last week, Qntal presented a great selection of country & western tunes, in the VB Barn.
DJ Bea plays an eclectic mix of rock, blues and jazz on Monday mornings at 9 am SLT. This Monday, Bea will play "In honor of Dr King's birthday - some freedom songs ... and a bunch of soul ..."
DJ Cerydwen continues her journey into the best decades of contemporary music with 80s Night at 5 pm SLT Monday. Lots of favorites, but always something new to discover from the decade that keeps on giving.
DJ Avion spins tunes old and new, by artists legendary and obscure, when we get beachy for Tiki Toosday at 5 pm SLT. We currently alternate between the VB Pool and Surf's Up, which will be the venue for next Tuesday's event.
DJ Cerydwen presents Symphonic and Goth metal on Wednesdays at 5 pm SLT, in her latex and leather dungeon. Great music in a perfect setting for an absorbing and compelling genre of music.
