New Year Toga Party

 As we head towards our eleventh anniversary in 2022 I would like to take this opportunity to thank our members and guests for your support during the year, and in particular the officers and DJs who have done so much to keep Venus Beach II a lively and welcoming place. Happy New Year to you all!

Next Sunday at 4 pm SLT we continue with our traditional New Year Toga Party, which has been run every year since 2010. Theme dress would include togas, silks, or anything ancient-worldly or new-yearly.

Last Sunday evening DJ Avion slowed the tempo a little with soft rock suitable for a formal evening in the elegant environs of Ella's. Guests looked wonderful in a stunning array of evening-wear. 

For this week's Celtic Sunrise at 5 am SLT, DJ Qntal will present "Rock in the New Year", with an assortment of rock songs from the 70s to the present. Last week Qntal played a lovely selection of romantic tunes for the regular end-of-month Love Songs and Lingerie on the Big Bed at Venus Bean.

DJ Bea plays an eclectic mix of rock, blues and jazz on Monday mornings at 9 am SLT. This Monday, Bea says "It is time for my annual review - songs from all the rock/blues/etc albums I bought this year ... and a few scattered tracks where I did not buy the whole album." 

DJ Cerydwen continues her journey into the best decades of contemporary music with 80s Night at 5 pm SLT Monday. Lots of favorites, but always something new to discover.

DJ Avion spins tunes old and new, by artists legendary and obscure, when we get beachy for Tiki Toosday at 5 pm SLT. We currently alternate between Surf's Up and the VB Pool, which will be the venue for next Tuesday's event.

DJ Cerydwen presents Symphonic and Goth metal on Wednesdays at 5 pm SLT, in her latex and leather dungeon. Great music in a perfect setting for an oft-overlooked but compelling genre of music.

On Fridays at 5 pm SLT, DJ Cerydwen presents a different musical theme each week. This week Cerydwen will play DJ Favorites, though with Cerydwen's availability uncertain DJ Avion might substitute with the same theme - no dress suggestions, come as you like. Last week Cerydwen presented Rockmas, on a Christmassy set but with a focus on the glam/hair bands sub-genre of rock.
