Rockin' the Taj

Putting travel restrictions aside, this Sunday at 4 pm SLT we visit the iconic Taj Mahal where DJ Avion will present music relating to things Indian - and of course an occasional touch of Bollywood. Saris or silks are suggestions for possible attire.

Lost in Space & Down to Earth

You'll have two chances to find inspiration at Fenris Johnson's The Muse (landmark here). Landing on a space platform you'll be surrounded by an array of space geekery. Check out the asteroid field, a big red star, a series of space islands connected by bridges. Be sure to get "lost in space" by clicking on Pandorian orbital or couples orbit. And, yes, that's a flying whale circling the platform.

A TP board will take you down to earth, literally and figuratively, to a dusty library, a gypsy lane of caravans, a sun-dappled walk to an elven ballroom where you might be inspired to don medieval attire, and near the pond a tower from the top floor of which you can choose panoramic views or privacy with an impressively-textured set of shutters, .

Last Sunday evening we danced to the beat of the big bands in the period Honeysuckle Rose venue for a varied set of swing tunes from DJ Bea.

For this week's Celtic Sunrise at 5 am SLT, DJ Qntal  will play Celtic and romantic music in a venue yet to be announced. Last week DJ Shelly presented "Love Songs and Lingerie" with a selection of sweet tunes on the Big Bed in Venus Bean.

DJ Bea plays an eclectic set of rock, blues and jazz on Monday mornings at 9 am SLT. This Monday Bea says "I recently bought a couple of classic albums from 1971. I was looking for other 1971 stuff to fill a set, then ended up playing three great albums from that year. I won't say which ones - come listen and find out."

DJ JoAnn continues her journey into the best decades of contemporary music with 80s Night at 5 pm SLT Monday. Always lots of favorites, as well as music you've rarely or never heard before.

DJ Avion spins tunes old and new, by artists legendary and obscure, when we gather for Tiki Toosday at 5 pm SLT. We currently alternate between the VB Pool and Surf's Up, which will be the location of next Tuesday's event.

DJ JoAnn presents Symphonic and Goth metal on Wednesdays at 5 pm SLT  in her latex and leather dungeon. Great music in a perfect setting for an oft-overlooked but compelling genre of music.

On Fridays at 5 pm SLT, DJ JoAnn plays a musical theme that often takes place in one of the special venues. This week JoAnn plays the numbers game with music relating to integers, ordinals and numerals - appropriate in light of the endless statistics to which we have been exposed recently. Last week, we planted ourselves in a garden setting where JoAnn entertained us with tunes to celebrate the coming of the northern spring.
