Change of topic today.

I thought today for a change of scenery in our blog. I thought i'd blog about my biggest gripe in life, and perhaps relevant for a lot of us in our Venus Beach II community on so many different levels...
The issue? Sexist attitudes in our society, the old 'boys club', and the old gaurd of the patriarchal society we live in, still, in 2012... despite all the efforts that have been going on in the western world over the past few decades...
Like many, perhaps most of us I'm on Facebook. I came across a group called 'Destroy The Joint' ~ mainly Australian based, but great for anyone - Female or male - if you have an interest in this topic.
Today I wanted to highlight a few links within this Facebook page to our Second Life Community.

The first is called 'The Everyday Sexism Project'. Here we are encouraged to write comments of our everyday experiences of sexism in our everyday lives' It's quite striking, and quite a read.

I won't ruin it by posting what i think is my 'favourite' post here, they're all important posts in their own right.

Another group I found was via 'Tumbler' Women have written as many reasons they can think of to the question of 'Who needs Feminism'. Again, this is eye popping and a great read.

Google the keywords to the above and you'll find them easily. In the meantime, if your Aussie or not, 'Like' the group 'Destroy The Joint' on Facebook. It currently has almost 21K 'likes'. It's  something really close to my heart, and should be important to all of us, as women. Society won't change unless we're proactive... and that also means here in SL. Why should we put up with sexist attitudes in SL? we shouldn't. In some way, it's due to those sexist attitudes displayed by men that Venus Beach was established in 2007. Stand up for the sisterhood girls!!
