Rolling Thunder Reaches Venus Beach

Sturgis, South Dakota, has hosted a motorcycle rally each year since 1938, last year attracting three-quarters of a million people. Avion has recreated downtown Sturgis at the Venus Beach racetrack, where we'll gather at 4 pm SLT Sunday looking for Best Biker.

Last night at Ella's, Avion played two hours of terrific, slightly-slower, varied tunes as we danced in our elegant party dresses. Suzi was determined to have the Best Party Dress.

Monday mornings at 9 am SLT, DJ Bea plays an eclectic mix, sometimes with a theme, today featuring some new-to-Bea albums.

Monday evenings at 5 pm SLT, DJ JoAnn rocks Venus Beach with an always-intriguing playlist of tunes, frequently centered around a decade (like the '80s, for example, this week).

Each Tuesday at 5 pm SLT DJ Avion takes us to one of the Topless Tiki Toosday venues. This week it's the Venus Beach Swimming Pool.

Wednesday at 6 pm SLT we bid farewell to Bea's classic swing event at Honeysuckle Rose. After a 10-month temporary home at VBII, Bea's USO show returns to The Cellar next week. Be sure to stop by to say hello and goodbye.

Games Night at 5 pm SLT Thursdays features music from DJ Surfer and group games like Greedy and poker. There are also dozens of individual activities in the Amusement Park and nearby airfield, racetrack and lagoon.
