Arrrhhh, We Forrrrgot!

Next Sunday, it's 'We Forgot to Schedule Talk Like a Pirate Day', our effort to compensate for missing it last month. Our annual raucous romp aboard the good (bad) ship HMS Booty begins at 4 pm SLT. I forgot something. Oh yeah, Arrrhhh ...

It's not just Breast Cancer Awareness Month. As we continue to conduct breast inspections, we also observe Domestic Violence Awareness Month. We offer a hug and shed a tear or two for those who have been victimized (including some Venusians we all know), and we send encouragement and congratulations to those who have climbed out of the depths of victimhood or are trying to do so. Almost everybody comes into contact with domestic abuse victims on a regular basis. Open your eyes to possible warning signs. One in 3 women have been sexually abused ... 1 in 5 by an intimate partner.

Classic swing returned to the VBII Sunday lineup last night as Swingin' DJBea offered up two hours at Honeysuckle Rose. Indra and Sunbeam were voted Best in Swing Era Attire.

Bea's Monday 9 am SLT Dance Party always involves an eclectic mix of tunes and this week will include "a fair number of two-fers."

Monday at 5 pm DJ JoAnn rocks the beach with a backup hostess. She's working her way through a top-1,000 list that's sure to bring back memories as well as expose you to some terrific new-to-you tunes.

You'll never get that thing off the ground!

DJ Avion brings Topless Tiki Toosday back to the popular Venus Beach Swimming Pool this week. Join us at 5 pm SLT Tuesday in swimwear or some variation thereof.

Madam Lash's House of Pain and Pleasure seems to bring out the dark side in all of us. Join DJ JoAnn as she plays goth and symphonic metal at 5 pm Wednesday. Themed attire is prevalent but not required.

Get ready for anything Thursday at 5 pm with DJ Surfer spinning the tunes. Dancing, chatting, group games like Greedy and strip poker, a relaxing spa visit at the end. Plus there are dozens of activities to try in the Amusement Park, race track and airfield. It's your day to play!
