U.S. Presidential Inauguration

The quadrennial U.S. Presidential Inaugurations are full of colorful pomp and ceremony and also invite protests large or small. As we note the 2017 version on Sunday at 4 pm SLT, reach into your imagination to portray any of the many Presidents, First Ladies, mistresses, candidates, Secret Service agents, protesters, political groupies, Inaugural Ball attendees (gown up for this one), and anyone else who comes to mind. But let's have fun with this and not squabble over the new American President (or anyone else for that matter). Best in Inauguration Attire leaves lots of room for you to improvise.

Venus Beat Blues Club heard DJ Bea play two hours of blues Sunday evening,  much of it (like the Stones' blues album) new. From a club full of varied denim, JoAnn won a close vote to become Best in Denim.

Bea will be back this week with the Monday 9 am SLT Dance Party, an eclectic mix of tunes showcasing some recent digital additions, this week featuring: "A tribute to the first Doors album, 50 years on, and lots of other stuff." That set was rudely usurped last Monday by SL log-in issues. The precipitous drop in users (below) spanned the time of the event, and beyond. [Many of those shown to be online were likely bots.]

Monday at 5 pm SLT DJ JoAnn continues to work her Way through the great tunes on a top 1000 list voted by radio station listeners.

DJ Avion takes us west to the Surf's Up! Tiki Bar at 5 pm SLT on Tuesday.

DJ JoAnn takes us to the dark side Wednesdays at 5 pm SLT, playing goth metal and related genres in Madam Lash's House of Pleasure and Pain.

Games Night on Thursdays at 5 pm SLT offers a wide variety of activities and traditionally concludes with a relaxing soak in the spa. DJ Surfer provides the music.

DJ JoAnn's event at 5 pm SLT Fridays will feature "the colors of music" this week.

Something clubby from The Shops this week, Java Designs' Bare It Dress Night Out, L$40 in 5 standard mesh sizes plus one fitted mesh.
