'...walking in a winter wonderland'

The lovely tropical scenery of Venus Beach II has been invaded by a brief patch of winter that's sure to delight seasonal celebrants and aspiring figure skaters alike. The ice- and snow-covered focal point of our southern sim provides a nice reminder of our 11-month tropical summer and offers several seasonal activities.

In addition to the festive Christmas décor, there are other activities and photo opportunities, including helping to build a snowman, a remarkably self-sufficient ice fishing shack where one can get away from it all,  kitty-themed cuddles, and rezzable snowmobiles (they're really fast!).

But, it's in ice skating that Avion's ingenuity really shines. She has created free ice skating boots for mesh as well as classic bodies. Not only are they colorable, one can also remove the skates and have a nice pair of boots for "flat" mesh feet (classic feet, too, of course). There are two kinds of skating: one can free-skate anywhere when wearing the freebie skates, OR one can look like a Winter Olympian by clicking on one of the blue pose balls just west of the main dance floor. By synchronizing with a friend (ctrl + s) you can look like a pairs figure skating team.

Enjoy winter while it lasts. Tropical splendor will return before 2018 begins.
