St. Andrew's Day

When we celebrate St. Andrew's Day for our featured event of the week Sunday at 4 pm SLT, we'll be in a Scottish pub, listening to Avion's selection of songs by Scottish artists. For those who are punctilious about punctuation, the town St. Andrews and its far better known golf course lost their apostrophes somewhere in the gorse and heather of the Old Course, but the day is correctly possessive.

DJ Avion took us to the Happy Daze Drive-In for a harvest festival-inspired Food event. We covered the food gamut, from wearing it to preparing it to serving it.

Trista and Steph continued their quest to find every couples dance ball at VB II

Travel Tip: Moki Yuitza's intriguing Hypercube is far, far more than the free M or F wooden puppet avatars on offer at the start--but do grab one, they're terrific. There are two dozen dioramas in which or one two avatars can participate by sitting on the pose balls. We spent an inordinate amount of time translating names of objects and poses to try to determine the title of the vignette. But the real point, according to the creator's profile, is to write your own story. Here is a sampling:

Don't forget to grab a puppet avatar

Healing hugs

They make you want to skip, too

Worshipping the puppet goddess

Peeking over the wall

In chains

The juggling builder

The mask

Riding the unicorn

Fallen angel (broken wing)

After an interlude of Shellly Belly/Bali, DJ Suzi hoped to return to Acoustic Sunrise at 5 am SLT on Sunday, but technical difficulties are keeping her from the DJ booth. DJ Qntal fills in this week as we return to the Arabian Pavillion.

At times Avion was positively electrifying

DJ Bea plays an eclectic set of rock, blues, and jazz every Monday morning at 9 am SLT. This week, says Bea: "I have this sorta odd set with lots of twofers - mostly R&B - along with a fair amount of New Wave and Alternative."

DJ JoAnn continues her excursion into the best decades for contemporary music with '80s Night at 5 pm SLT  Monday. As always lots of your favorites, plus a few that are likely to be new to you.

DJ Avion spins tunes old and new, by artists legendary and obscure, when we gather for Tiki Toosday at 5 pm in a variety of locations on the two VB II sims.  This week we'll be at Neon Palms in the VB II cave.

DJ JoAnn presents Symphonic and Goth Metal Wednesdays at 5 pm SLT in Madam Lash's House of Pleasure and Pain. Goth attire is entirely optional.

Shiwasu took some selfies over Venus Beach II

Fridays at 5 pm SLT DJ JoAnn plays a musical theme that often takes place in one of Avion's clever venues. This week it's trains, and you'll notice a few iron horses on display as well as in music.
