Venus Beach II - What Happens At Our Events?

Events: Unleash Your Inner Kink Sunday at 4

For all the beauty of the recently renovated Venus Beach II sims, and all the opportunities for me to crash recreational vehicles, as we pass the annual observance of International Women’s Day (Friday, March 8), one is reminded that the 10 or so weekly events are what brings us together and develops the “sisterhood” of our group.

No, I don’t mean we get together like some coven plotting to take over the world. (Though I suppose, if guys want to think that, it wouldn’t be too awful to keep them on their best behavior.) But we do provide a relaxed atmosphere in which one can escape the rigors of First Life and the frequent pressures of Second Life. For 90+ minutes we can dance and chat and listen to the terrific music provided by Avion, Bea and Surfer. We laugh and joke a lot, and also talk about such diverse topics as tanks (no, not tank tops, military tanks), tigers, TimTams, Trader Joe’s, and tiny tops. And tatas--not like a bunch of pubescent boys wondering about them—we’re quite aware of what they are—we have them! The new mesh breasts seen everywhere in SL prompted us to invite Emily and Zoey to show us their new boobs and explain a bit about the offerings from Lush and Lola Tangos. We occasionally have semi-serious discussions about history or trivia. But mostly we giggle and enjoy a respite from getting hit on in the rest of SL.

Most of our events are “come as you are” and VBII is clothing optional, so attire (if any) is entirely at your discretion. Four other events have some optional guidelines: Topless Tiki Toosday suggest topless swimwear, and Saturday’s dance in the pool suggests not wearing more than swimwear (less is okay). On Thursdays Surfer picks a theme for a contest and on Sundays there’s the weekly costume event, usually with a fabulous set created by Avion.

This Sunday at 4 pm SLT, the contest is Best in Fetishwear (500L) and it will take place in Madam Lash's House of Pleasure and Pain. Even if you are not into a fetish, you no doubt have acquired plenty of fetishwear in SL—or maybe you harbor a secret desire to pursue a fetish, in which case here’s a safe place to try out your “look.” And I’m curious: how did you label the fetishwear folder in your inventory? Fetish. Kink. BDSM. The Dark Side. (That last one is mine, not really sure why.)

See you around campus,
Shy Librarian
